These terms are a contract between you and Brobot Technologies Limited ("we", "us", "our"). They govern your use of modbot, our desktop app. By downloading, installing, or using modbot, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
the service
modbot is a desktop app that installs and manages Minecraft mods, shaders, and resource packs. You describe what you want in plain language. modbot interprets your request using a third-party AI provider, finds matching content on the Modrinth API, resolves dependencies and versions, installs the mod loader (Fabric, NeoForge, or Forge) when one is needed, and places files in the correct game directory. modbot is early software offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis. It launches in summer 2026, on Windows first.
eligibility and age
You must be at least 13 years old to use modbot. If you are between 13 and 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use modbot and to pay for it. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you live.
your account
A paid account is tied to the email address you use to subscribe. You are responsible for keeping that email secure and for all activity under your account. Accounts are for one person. You may not share, sell, or resell access.
free allowance
New users get a limited number of free uses with full access so you can evaluate modbot before paying. No payment method is required for the free allowance. Once it is used up, continuing requires a paid subscription, and your payment method is charged when you subscribe. There is one free allowance per device. We may change or withdraw the free allowance at any time.
subscriptions, pricing, and billing
Beyond the free allowance, modbot is a paid subscription: £6.99 per month, or £39.99 per year (equivalent to £3.33 per month). These are the total prices you will pay. Prices are in pounds sterling and include all applicable taxes. Payment is billed in advance through Stripe and renews automatically each period until you cancel. We may change prices with reasonable notice, and any change applies from your next renewal. Paid plans are subject to a limit on the number of AI requests you can make; we set this high enough that normal personal use will not reach it, and it exists to keep the service fair and prevent abuse.
cancellation
You can cancel at any time (see our refund and cancellation policy for how). Cancelling stops future renewals. It takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. We do not refund partial or unused periods.
refunds
We do not generally offer refunds on amounts already charged. The free allowance is your opportunity to evaluate modbot before paying. This does not affect any statutory rights that cannot be excluded. Full detail is in our refund and cancellation policy.
acceptable use
You agree not to misuse or interfere with modbot, not to reverse engineer or decompile it except where the law allows, not to resell or commercially redistribute it, not to circumvent rate limits or automate abuse of the AI features, and not to use modbot for anything unlawful or infringing.
ai output and accuracy
The AI interpretation is not perfect. It may misunderstand your request, pick the wrong mod, or miss something. You are responsible for reviewing what gets installed. We do not guarantee that the results are correct or complete.
mods are third-party content
Mods, shaders, and resource packs are third-party content from Modrinth and its authors, provided under their own licences. You install them at your own risk. We do not create, control, vet, or endorse them. We are not responsible for game crashes, world corruption, lost saves, data loss, or any other harm caused by mods or by modding.
third-party services
modbot relies on third-party services, including Modrinth, DeepSeek, and Stripe. Each of these has its own terms, which apply to your use of them.
availability and changes to the service
We do not promise that modbot is always available or error-free. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, or discontinue the service.
intellectual property
modbot, its name, and its branding belong to us. While you have an active subscription, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and use the app for your own personal use. This licence lasts for the duration of your subscription and ends when your subscription ends or is terminated in accordance with these terms. No ownership of the app or its intellectual property is transferred to you.
disclaimer of warranties
modbot is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it is compatible with every mod, every Minecraft version, or every modpack.
limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss or corruption of game data, worlds, or saves. Our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory consumer rights.
your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms affects your rights that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use modbot in a way that harms the service or others. You may stop using modbot at any time by cancelling and uninstalling it.

modbot is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Mojang AB or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang AB.
changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a change that materially affects your rights or obligations, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the change takes effect and tell you what is changing. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect, and we will not charge you for any period after cancellation. If you continue to use modbot after the change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. For minor or administrative changes (such as correcting typos or updating contact details), we will update the "last updated" date above, and no advance notice is required.
governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also benefit from mandatory protections under your local law, and you may have the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
